Communication

Communication

Our success is based on meaningful collaboration with parents and students and good communication is at the heart of this.  There are several platforms for communication.

There will be formal occasions such as Learning Review Day (dates tbc) which is an annual event for you and your child to meet with their tutor to review their achievements and together set goals to promote academic progress and wellbeing. Similarly, you will be invited to Parent Consultations (February/March) with your child’s subject teachers to gain further insight into academic progress. These annual events are complemented by three Achievement Reports which will detail progress towards target levels and Attitude to Learning (comprised of Focus, Behaviour and Homework scores from each subject teacher).

We use ClassCharts to provide you with daily updates which relate specifically to your child and you will therefore receive a unique username when your child joins us in September.

Homework: Your child’s teacher will share details of homework tasks, due date and recommended time for completion with you and your child via ClassCharts. This is a useful tool to help your child develop independent learning and organisation skills.

Conduct:  Via ClassCharts, your child’s teachers will provide daily updates about their conduct. It is a useful tool to reward and recognise individual efforts relating to engagement, respect and achievement. They will also use this platform to communicate any concerns about these areas. This is a  useful tool for tutors, Head of Learning and parents to have meaningful conversations.

You will be able to contact your child’s tutor, subject teachers or Head of Learning via the following email: office@willink.w-berks.sch.uk.

We will share information relating to your child’s year group via a weekly 'Parent Digest' (an email sent out every Wednesday) and whole school information via WeLink (this is our newsletter, sent out fortnightly on Tuesdays). Current and previous editions of Parent Digest and WeLink are always made available on our website.

In addition, you can also follow us on social media to stay connected for latest news & updates:
