The Willink is a high performing and oversubscribed school. In 2018 over 80% achieved the GCSE benchmark of 5+ grades 9-4 and 30% achieved A*/A at A level. The school has 1070 students on roll including 170 in the Sixth Form, and is situated in a pleasant semi-rural setting south west of Reading. The school’s Ofsted judgment in June 2018 was exceptionally positive. As a Teaching School we can offer the successful candidate excellent support and professional development.

Teacher of Science

MPR Pay Range, 0.6FTE to Full Time, from September 2019

We require a committed colleague with a real interest in the provision of quality and imaginative teaching to join an experienced, supportive and high achieving Science Department (80% of students achieved a 5 or above in their Science GCSEs in 2018). We are looking to appoint a biologist, chemist or physicist. The ability to teach a second subject, not necessarily in science is desirable.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach science across the age and ability range up to GCSE. There may be the opportunity of teaching A-Level. As a Teaching School we warmly welcome applications from ITT colleagues and we can offer the successful candidate excellent support and professional development.

Head of Learning

Management Allowance 2

Full time; MPR/UPR; September 2019 start

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, motivated and inspirational teacher to the role of Head of Learning. In addition to a teaching commitment of 0.8 FTE, the post holder will be required to lead and ensure the highest possible attainment of a year group of up to 210 students. The year group will be decided upon following appointment. This role is supported by a non-teaching Pastoral Support Assistant, a team of tutors, plus specialist intervention staff.  Examinations Invigilator

Local Government Pay: Grade B £9.00-9.36 per hour inclusive of holiday pay

Start date: from March 2019

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and reliable people to support the examination process. No experience is needed as full training will be given.  The main examination season is in May and June. However, there will be other examinations requiring invigilators at other times during the academic year. 

Hours and days will vary according to need but we are seeking those who can offer between two and seven hours per day, and are available from 8.30am and or up until approximately 3.30/4.00pm, up to 5 days per week. This role is for a casual contract.  We aim to give everyone in the pool the opportunity to gain practical experience and to develop their skills and knowledge in the role.  There will be no guaranteed minimum hours of work due to the nature of the role.
